Marc Arnett is a proud native of Americus, GA, and current resident of Sumter County. Blessed to grow up in a close-knit family, he learned the value of education, work ethic, determination, and honesty from his father, a U.S. Army Veteran and retired farmer, and his wonderful mother, who sacrificed much to raise four children.
Marc’s passion for community organizing and public education have inspired his years-long advocacy work in rural Georgia schools, where as a mentor he helps students, parents, and teachers discover opportunities for personal and professional growth available to them. He also works in sales and service in the insurance industry. He believes deeply in lifting up the disenfranchised and overlooked and is committed to building a better public education system, investing in local economic development, and improving healthcare affordability and accessibility in the community that raised him.
Marc worked full time to put himself through school, studying management and entrepreneurship at Columbus State University and graduating with a degree in Business Management from Georgia Southwestern State University. He and his wife, Sheena, are the proud parents of two sons.
